“Impact of Education for Evidence-Based Screening Mammography in Black Women Aged 40-49”
Featuring:
Evelyn Addo-Wallace, DNP, MPH, WHNP-BC
Adjunct Faculty, Nurse-Midwifery/Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP) and WHNP Programs
While the incidence of breast cancer is similar among Black and White women, Black women have a 41% higher mortality rate. They are often diagnosed at younger ages, with more advanced stages, and more aggressive cancer types, resulting in a 10% lower five-year survival rate at every stage of the disease. This presentation outlines a quality improvement (Q.I.) project conducted at a federally qualified health center (FQHC) in the northeastern U.S., aimed at addressing disparities through enhanced screening mammography.
Following the presentation, the speaker, Dr. Evelyn Addo-Wallace, will be joined by a moderated panel discussion among GUSON APRN specialties featuring Drs. Abbye Solis (AG-ACNP), Lois Wessel (FNP), and Karan Kverno (PMHNP).
Attendees are eligible for 1.25 CE through the ANCC.
